paris hilton

The latest celebrity gossip from around the world.

The 25-year-old failed a sobriety test after being pulled over by police in Hollywood. She later apologised, blaming a 24-hour working day and one lone Martini for failing the test. The hotel heiress-turned-pop star looks set to be sentenced to an Alcoholics Anonymous programme by a court when she appears to answer Drink Driving charges.

Paris Hilton reported to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood to serve her 23 days for violating probation. Hilton (that´s hot) will spend approximately 23 hours a day in a 12-by-8-foot cell containing two bunks, a table, a sink, a toilet and a small window, with one hour for recreation. She will eat her meals in the cell. She could also leave her cell to meet with her attorney or to attend classes.

Paris Hilton appears in the court after serving just 3 days of her 23-day sentence, and sent home with an electronic tag instead.

But at the new court hearing, she will face her old mate Judge Michael T. Sauer, who originally sent her down for 45 days. Her reappearance at court is courtesy of a request by LA City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, who will ask for Paris to be sent back to the clink. To make things more complicated, there´s also the small matter of why she was let out in the first place... apparently the judge had forbidden Paris to be held under electronic home monitoring.

Paris Hilton was taken back to court from her mansion in handcuffs in a sheriff´s car, looking dishevelled, without makeup, hair askew and face red with tears. She cried throughout the hearing and several times she turned to her parents and mouthed, "I love you".

So she had actually be released from prison without the judges say so. But a rep from the Sheriff´s department said that it "can override a judge´s sentencing order, it happens all the time".

However, Mr Delgadillo will call this into question. "Today I was extremely troubled to learn that the Sheriff´s Department has decided to release Ms. Hilton from custody just three days after she was admitted to county jail," he said.

"Had we been provided with the proper notification, we would have opposed the decision on legal grounds." He reckons her release on medical grounds is "puzzling" since the jails are "well-equipped" to deal with inmate medical situations. He added: "We cannot tolerate a two-tiered jail system where the rich and powerful receive special treatment."

Paris Hilton has been ordered to complete her 45-day sentence in jail despite a sheriff insisting she has a "mental" condition.

"It´s not right," shouted the 26-year-old, who violated her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
